In memoriam

Bosnian poet, prose writer, and screenwriter. He was a renowned Bosnian poet and screenwriter who was celebrated for his significant influence in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the former Yugoslavia. He gained fame for his acclaimed poetry collection "Sarajevski tabut" in 1993, as well as for his screenplays, notably for Emir Kusturica's films "Do You Remember Dolly Bell?" (1981) and the Academy Award-nominated "When Father Was Away on Business" (1985). Sidran, a member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hailed from a Bosniak family with roots in Biograd near Nevesinje.
