Alfred, 2.Fürst von Montenuovo, was the only son of Wilhelm Albrecht, 1.Fürst von Montenuovo, and his wife, Gräfin Juliana Batthyány von Németújvár. He was married in Vienna on October 30, 1879 to Gräfin Franziska Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau, by whom he had four children.
