Cora Irineu (birth name: Elena D. Friedman ) was the daughter of physician Dimitrie Friedman, and Elena . In 1918, her family officially changed their surname to Irineu . She attended high school in Constanta and later pursued a degree in Letters and Philosophy at the University of Bucharest , earning her license in 1912. She became an editor at the literary magazine Ideea Europeană , where she debuted in 1919 with the article Către Critici ( To the Critics ). She contributed to Viața Românească , Cugetul Românesc , and other periodicals, primarily with her "Banat Letters" and articles on feminism , contemporary French literature, and the importance of classical studies . Corina wrote critical essays on Paul Verlaine, Paul Claudel, Anna de Noailles, Lucian Blaga , among others. Her study Marcel Proust și Romanul Subconștientului ( Marcel Proust and the Novel of the Subconscious , 1922) is among the first Romanian responses to Proust's revolutionary work. Seeking
