Cornelia Cordis Cighi

In memoriam

Cornelia Cighi (nee Cordis) was born in Bocsa, Salaj on March 26, 1932. She was 19 years old when she married my uncle Vasile (October 27, 1912 – December 4, 1996) and they had two boys: Ioan Dumitru Cighi (b. September 8, 1954) and Vasile Simion Cighi (b. August 27, 1959). I spent a lot of time in the house of my grandfather Dumitru Simion Cighi (where she lived after the marriage). I lived in that house, together with Cornelia Cighi, after my grandmother died in 1952 and I started the elementary school in Bocsa in 1953. Cornelia Cighi died in Zalau on May 4, 2017. I attended her Greek Catholic funeral ceremony, at the Bocsa Cemetery on May 6, 2017.
