Son of Georgius Dietrich (Diedrich) and Anna Rebin (Reb). Baptized Joannes Dietrich in Neo Panath, Kingdom of Hungary. (Neo Panath was the Latin form of the village name, which was the official language until 1836, when Hungarian was introduced. After that, the village name was written as Uj Panath or Ujpanad. It is now Horia, Arad, Romania.) He married Anna Wirth on January 18, 1841 in Uj Panath, Kingdom of Hungary. They settled in Világos, which is now Șiria, Arad, Romania. Five known children were born to this union. They are as follows: Barbara (1842-1842) Anna (1844-1845) János (1846-1848) Josefus (1850-1878) Martin (1852-1933) He died from "paralysis pulmonum" (paralysis of the lungs) on February 8, 1860 in Világos. He was buried on February 9, 1860.
