He was a forestry worker from Krnice pri Novakih. He joined the partisans in June 1943 and fell on 13 February 1944 at Volaka. Source: Vinko Demšar. 1975. Loški razgledi 22, page 198 [The monument gives the death year as 1943, but this must be an error if the date of 13 February is correct in the written source.]
