Daughter of Antonios Poniros and Anna Katsounis Poniros of Kardamyla, Chios, Greece. Devoted wife of Dimitrios I. Georgilis*. Devoted & beloved mother of sons, John (d. 1982), Anthony (d. 1967), George (d. 1978), Stephen/Stefanos (d. 1990), Pantelis (Pete) (d. 1986) and Nikolaos (d. 1970); daughters, Maria Georgilis Madias (d. apprx 1975); Anna Georgilis Melis (d. mid-1990s). *Note: The family spelling in Greek is noted. The brothers used "Georgelis" in America because the eldest, John, tried to make it more anglicised. In Europe, they opted to stick to Georgilis. The family is interconnected across a few countries.
