Mate “Longo” Starcevic

Second child of Anton and Ana (Tomljanovic) Starcevic, born at House No. 100. Baptized Mathias at Sv. Jurie Catholic Church in Lic. Godparents Francis and Anna Starcevic. FHL Film #2084810 Married Marija Vlahovic about 1892 in Lic. They had six children: Anna and Paul, died young; Josip settled in Duluth, Minnesota; Marija "Mica," married and had three children; she died after July 1964 in Croatia; Mirko and Viktor immigrated to Canada. In addition to the FHL Films, much of this families' information was provided by John Paul Starcevich . Cousin "Johnnie" knew Mate in Lic. He said because Mate was 6 feet, 7 inches tall, he was called "Longo."
