Mihai Dumitru Ralea

In memoriam

Romanian social scientist, journalist and politician. He was a professor at the University of Iasi and the University of Bucharest. He was a member of the National Peasants' Party and later set up a Socialist Peasants' Party and became a founding member and Labor Minister of the National Renaissance Front. He willingly cooperated with the Communist Party and the Ploughmen's Front before and after their rise to power. He died abroad while on a mission to UNESCO.
