Pantelis Demitrios “Pete” Georgilis

In memoriam

Pantelis Demitrios Georgilis was born on 10th September 1903 to Dimitrios and Kyriakoula Poniros Georgilis of Kardamyla, Chios, Greece. He was a naturalised citizen who continued to live in Greece, as well as Martins Ferry, Ohio. Pete helped to run the family store and he was a seaman who was involved in Greek shipping. He and his wife Kalliopi had one son who was born in Greece in 1951. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Anthony, George and Nikolas Georgilis; sister, Maria Madias; sister-in-law, Katherine (Kontos) Georgelis; his great niece, Erin Liadis.
