In memoriam

A Jäger 12. Kompanie , III. Bataillon, Luftlande-Sturm-Regiment. The Battalion parachuted near to Maleme airfield, Crete but landed almost on top of the defensive positions of the New Zealand 5th Infantry Brigade and suffered very heavy casualties including Jäger Tanner. Born in Rheda. Son of Marie Luise and Wilhelm Tanner.
