Valentin Zovko

In memoriam

Ordained to the priesthood through the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor in Rome on August 6, 1913, Father Valentin served in various localities as chaplain, guardian, catechist and high school teacher, with his last assignment being that of pastor in Kočerin, where he was murdered "in odium fidei" along with his nephew, the newly ordained Father Andrija Topić OFM., who was murdered in his sickbed. Theirs was the same fate which faced several others Franciscans in the country.
